This was our third day in a row at sea. J asked me if I liked a day at sea better than a day at home! I said most definitely yes! We get fed delicious food that we did not have to prepare or clean up!
We had another meeting in the Crowsnest with Cruise Critic people - these folks are becoming friends! Lunch in the dining room was lovely and we enjoyed the company of another couple from Northern California! J went to play bridge and I went to enjoy the quartet perform “Masterworks by Brahms” at the Lincoln Center Stage. They were outstanding!
Tonight we enjoyed dinner at the Pinnacle Grill, a specialty restaurant on all Holland America Ships. It is an extra charge to eat here, and definitely considered a splurge, but it was delicious food. J had crab cakes for a starter, and beef tenderloin with lobster dumplings. I had candied bacon (at the recommendation of our new friends in the dining room) and seared scallops. For dessert, J had a Baked Alaska with Ben & Jerry’s Cherries Garcia ice cream and I had chocolate soufflé. Wow!!!
When we returned to our stateroom, we found out a change of itinerary has occured - for the better. Bora Bora is back in! But that meant three other excursion dates are shifted around, so I was busy on my laptop reaching out to companies in Moorea, Papeete and Bora Bora - trying to adjust our arrangements! Fingers crossed these companies will have space available!
J and I will be sure to watch a movie in our room tonight. There is a great selection of movies to watch - many current, but some old favourites too. One of our excursions is to the island where the Tom Hanks movie “Castaway” was filmed, and that is one of the choices, so we might just watch that movie tonight!
Have great day!
