Little to report today at sea. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner in the dining room. Jessica is gluten free and as such, had placed picked out her menu choices yesterday to ensure everything was prepared GF for her. Unfortunately, there seemed to be mix ups, despite the best efforts of the dining room staff. She ordered scallops for an appetizer and was given mushroom soup, and she ordered fish for her entrée and was given beef ribs. So while our experience in the dining room has generally been positive without any food restrictions, hers was off to a bumpy start. She was very gracious in accepting whatever was offered to her.
We had intended to try to get to the interdenominational church service at 8:30 am, but we were busy trying to complete our Thailand entry card before noon and once you get into that digital application you want to finish it. We then had to stand in line for assistance with wifi – as J and I weren’t given our new 300 minutes of internet service with the start of this cruise. One hour later, we were set, with 300 minutes each in our accounts!
J, Jessica and Lynn found a fourth bridge partner and played a game in the morning in the Malaysia room – situated just off the library. I used that time to walk deck six outside for about 30 minutes. Dripping with sweat, I then cleaned up with a shower.
The ship was busy with lots of people around the pool today – the air temperature was around 30 C and it was high humidity so it felt hot! The main pool was netted off – this is usually done to keep guests out during rough seas. It was nice and calm on the water today. It later appeared that they were painting the pool – a bit of an unusual choice in my opinion, on a hot day at sea. Perhaps they were doing some other maintenance work on the pool before they painted it. We observed all the pool action as the four of us coincidentally met on the Lido deck – filling up water bottles and signing out towels for tomorrow’s excursion (though I must add margaritas may have been consumed too!) NCL does keep track of its towels by writing down room numbers when you sign out and return towels. If the numbers don’t coincide, you will see a $25 charge on your statement.
After supper, J, Jessica and I met in the card room for a game of 5 Crowns. We all made a trip to the tuck shop, where I picked up a pair of silicone ear plugs, hoping to avoid water in my ear, when we snorkel tomorrow!
