Last night after dinner, J and watched not one, but two movies in our stateroom. The Pixar animated movie “Inside Out” was on one of our two movie channels (and the only one with clear reception). After that, we watched the classic movie with Michael J. Fox, “Back to the Future”.
Today is the final full day of cruise one. Cruise lines are good about providing a sea day rather than a port day the day before disembarkation. Most people need to find an hour or two to pack their bags and put them out in the hallway tonight to get them offloaded from the ship the ship onto the pier deck. We count ourselves fortunate to not have to pack up our bags today!
After breakfast in the dining room, I made my way to the Bliss lounge where I participated with my usual abilities in trivia (read that to be less than 50% success rate)! I then watched a lighthearted cake decorating demonstration where a poor fellow from Winnipeg was invited up to be a contestant against Cruise Director, Jaycee and Pastry Chef, Gilbert!
Our friends invited us to eat lunch in the dining room with them. We all chose the peanut butter chocolate cheesecake for dessert which was quite tasty!
I then chose to watch two games of Deal or No Deal, like the television game show. The most a person could win was $1,000 – and you had to buy a game card to start with (and I did not so I don’t know how much they cost). The first woman lost and came away with $30 in her case. The second man accepted the deal for $198 – and had he pushed on to the last case, he could have one $400. I would have accepted the deals offered much sooner than the two contestants, so best that I wasn’t on the stage!
J and I actually went and read poolside this afternoon. It is about 26 C. They had a live band playing called “Cool by the Pool with 5th Wave” and their lead female singer was really good – and sang tunes we knew!
After a shower we got dressed in some of our finer clothes and went for dinner. We will try to call J’s sister Jessica (who is in Singapore) and joining us on this cruise tomorrow. She can share her knowledge of two days of being a tourist in Singapore to help us maximize our day in the city tomorrow! We will disembark in the morning around 9 am, then reboard around 3:30 or 4 pm – and most certainly before the ship sails!
