Day 10 At Sea

Today it was lovely and warm at sea – so the pools and nearby chairs were busy.  Being lily white skinned, we didn’t linger in the sun.

Today, we capitalized on the offer of filling a bag of laundry to have it washed for $34.  No steal of a deal, but the cheapest we would get without having self-laundry services onboard this ship.

For price comparison, each pair of underwear is $2 and each dress is $12 – so you can get a lot crammed into the bag with those prices!

After breakfast, we walked deck 6.  One loop is 480 metres, 3 ½ loops make one mile.  We went to the Trivia Challenge – and with J’s help I improved my score from 8 to 9 (out of 20)!!  It was fun and there was laughter.  I stayed in the Bliss lounge for the napkin folding interactive demonstration.  J went to try to resolve his issues at Guest Services to see our account on his iPad.  We cannot see the account on the NCL app on my phone because the charges are linked to his credit card.  He discovered that he doesn’t have the most up to date NCL app on his iPad.  After trying for about 20 minutes on slow shipboard wifi (of our precious 300 minutes allocated for the 13 day cruise), he quit trying.  We will try to hotspot off my phone when we are in port tomorrow to get the job done.

We had a nice conversation with Jim from New York – whose family of four is onboard and we keep crossing paths with them.  Impressively Jim won trivia today with 18 points!!

We enjoyed lunch in the Seven Seas at the back of the ship.

I watched the Not So Newlywed Game Show and J went for a workout.

Later in the afternoon we met Wes and Lisa on the Outdoor Terrace for conversation and another game of Qwirkle.

I rushed away for a shower before our 5:30 reservation at the specialty dining restaurant, Teppanyaki.  I preferred this restaurant over last night’s French restaurant, Le Bistro.  Le Bistro had great lamb for J.  I just thought it was a bit of a plain meal (mushroom soup and beef tenderloin with a single potato) for a $60 specialty restaurant.  It was included with our booking so we weren’t out of pocket, just my thoughts.  Teppanyaki was a bit of a show with the chef’s performing, singing and preparing the food at your table.  It wasn’t a quiet experience!

We then hurried off to the Broadway Show with four singers and the house band in the Stardust Theatre.  It was great quality singing.  I was surprised to really only recognize the final set of songs from Les Miserables!

We have an early arrival in Laem Chabang, Thailand tomorrow (6 AM) so we best get to bed early!
