Fly to Kilimanjaro Day 2

So that was a fairly successful night of sleep!  I went to bed about 9:45 PM, and fell asleep promptly, then woke up for an hour between 2:20 AM and 3:20 AM, then slept until about 6 AM. That is a win for a time zone adjustment of 8 hours!

Suzan and I both enjoyed the kettle in our room and had a cup of tea while getting ready to meet the group at 7:10 AM.

We then walked through the covered walkway directly to the airport where we dropped our bags and went through immigration. Five of us bought breakfast at McDonald’s once through security. We then all made our way to gave F4 for our direct nine hour flight to Kilimanjaro (JRO), Tanzania.

When in Canada, our leader Neil Zeller, helped us all download the Airalo app to provide affordable internet service while in Tanzania. I hope to connect with you once on the continent of Africa for the first time in my life!  I will post this now before hopping on the plane.

WE LANDED!

What an experience flying in. We intentionally booked seats at the back of the plane knowing they opened the back door and we could beat much of the crowd going into the terminal processing visas through customs!!

We met Cornel and his wife Jacqueline and Dennis. We made our way to our Land Cruisers (two of them) where they loaded our luggage - like Tetris!!

Now for the drive to Moshi!  One hout to get to AMEG Lodge where we will stay for two nights!
